Student's Good Deed Essays Sought in Return for $100

Submissions accepted at Long Valley Middle School through Feb. 28.

It’s that time of the year again. The time when a seventh or eighth grader can make a major difference in the community by helping others with the help of one Benjamin Franklin.

The Long Valley Junior Women’s Club’s annual Good Deed Essay contest is now accepting submissions through Feb. 28. Authors in the seventh or eighth grade who come up with the best proposal of what he or she could do with $100 will get the chance to prove it.

Winners from years past have done a myriad of great things for others, including the founding of a knitting club with seniors and donating scarves to the Market Street Mission in Morristown; organized a field day with games and contests for children with special needs; and made bags with crafts and games for students waiting to be placed in foster families.
